I have a neighbor and friend who is from Japan. She grew up in the Miyagi prefecture, one of the areas that was hit hard by the recent earthquake and tsunami. Her parents and sisters still live in that area and fortunately survived the tragedy, but they are still in a bad situation.
Sachiko is very worried about her family right now. She feels helpless, being so far away from them. She is reaching out and asking for anyone who is able to contribute to the humanitarian efforts of the church or any organization you trust. There is little I can do for my friend, who I feel so heart broken for, but I wanted to spread the word for her.
