Dear Grandma,
I hope you know how much I love and appreciate everything you've done for me. Thanks for making everything I did a priority to you. Thank you for coming to concerts, plays, birthday parties, everything. Thank you for 26 birthday cards, valentines complete with McDonald's "money", homemade Christmas gifts, and so many letters. How did you keep it up with so many children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren? How did you make me feel like I was so special?
Thank you for letting your home be my home. Thank you for letting me climb your trees, eat your walnuts, and pick your honeysuckles. Thank you for family barbecues. Thank you for chex mix, fudge pops, homemade treats of every kind, and the best toast on earth. Thank you for slumber parties with cousins and so many late night parties. Thank you for Thanksgiving.
Thank you for teaching me love, kindness, patience, selflessness, long suffering, and enduring to the end. You really understood what life was all about, didn't you?
Thank you for showing me what a homemaker can do. Thank you for being one. I will try to be more like you. I will try to keep my house a little cleaner. I will try to be a little more patient with my kids. I will try to make my family a bigger priority. Because I want to be more like you.
I love you, grandma. Thank you, one last time.
Love,
Kristin
