Rejection

Rue is now about 11 months old. I have been breastfeeding her since the day she was born and we haven't had any glitches in that department.... until now.

Last night, after eating for a bit, she pulled away from me, looked at her source of milk, then looked up at me, smiled, and then laughed. And then she was done.

Today she has completely refused to breast feed. She doesn't act bothered... she just seems weirded out by the idea as if all the sudden she's aware of what exactly we're doing. She's acting the way I think I would if someone tried to breast feed me. "You want me to do what? No thank you!"

Is this weird? Has anyone else ever experienced this? Any suggestions on what to do?

  2. That is really funny. Maybe she is just a very mature baby! My kids never wanted to give it up, and truthfully, neither did I. It was just something that always worked if they were crying. Anyways. I finished with Will at 15 months and Porter at 13 I think. Maybe 14 months. I wish I had some advice! Hopefully she will start eating again soon!

  3. Maybe she'll potty train herself too! You can always hope, right?
