San Diego

My parents rented a house on the beach in San Diego for my whole family to stay at in October.

Along with the Garretts, we decided to stay in Las Vegas one night to break up the long drive.

We spent the night at Excalibur and the kids thought it was the coolest hotel ever!  We also walked around a bit and went for a ride on the monorail.  They thought it was great fun!  We were just glad they were young enough to just notice all the cool stuff so they didn't notice all the less than appropriate parts of the city.

We went straight to the beach when we arrived in San Diego.

Lydia walked right into the water with no fear and immediately got knocked, and washed over by a wave.  It was a pretty traumatic introduction to the ocean for her, but it made us laugh.

We got to stay in this house, the Pink Dolphin, right on the beach.

The kids loved playing on the beach.  The water was freezing, of course, but that didn't stop any of us from getting in.

Everyone loved trying to figure out the boogie boards.  Richard actually got pretty good and could ride a wave for quite a while!  Too bad we didn't get a picture of him doing it.

We spent one day at the San Diego Zoo while we were there.

The kids enjoyed it, but not as much as hanging out at the beach house with the cousins.

All the kids loved taking turns holding Evie and Ara.

It was such a fun trip and we can't wait to do it again some day!
