A very fun spring break

For spring break we decided to have a little stay-cation.  The kids and I spent the first couple days at Grandma's house, a favorite of all the kids...

Except for Dawn.  This little stinker cried every time I put her down.

On Wednesday we dropped off our car to get some things checked out and decided to just play out of the house until it was done.  Richard dropped the kids and I off at the mall where we played, had lunch, and met up with a friend of mine from college.  Then we walked about a mile to a theater to see Wreck it Ralph.  (Yes, we are that crazy.  And yes, there was at least a little bit of whining going on.)  Then the kids and I played at a nearby park while Richard walked (what a trooper) to pick up our car.  It was a fun and exhausting day and...I have no pictures to show for it. :(

On Thursday we decided to go on a hike.  We found this great spot in a canyon nearby.  It was just a half mile trail so the kids didn't have any trouble doing it, and it had this cool waterfall at the end!  It also had lots of cool bridges to cross.

Afterward we went to a little restaurant that my mom used to work at as a teenager and got these yummy "flying saucers."  We used to get these all the time when I was little.
On Friday we decided to ride the train to the Salt Lake to try out the Discovery museum at the Gateway.  I don't know why we've never done it before!  It was so fun!  The kids were entertained for hours!
They also think the train is pretty fun. :)

Oh yes.  They also loved this fun toy store. . .

Such a fun week!  I think we'll do it again some time.  :)

  1. That all looks so fun! Well except maybe some of that walking ;)

Where is that hike, though? Is that around here or more up north?
