Catch up time!

My blog has become much like my personal journal.  At the beginning of every entry I feel the need to apologize for my long absence of writing.  I also usually wonder if there's any point in updating once every three months.  Oh well.  Some day I will be good at this!  Anyway, it would be a shame not to share some shots of these cute kiddos.  :)

Our one and only sledding trip this winter was quite the adventure.  The kids were very  apprehensive and had to ride down with Richard or I each time.  And they kind of enjoyed it.  Right before we had to leave I convinced Ariel and Rue to go down together without us.  They ended up running into Richard at the bottom (Who was stopping them from hitting the bathroom. . .) and they both flew off.   Yes, flew!  It was very traumatic for both of them, but we can't help but laugh every time we think of it now.

Ariel's still always on the lookout for a pretty clothing combination from her drawer.  This is her new favorite one.  (Still don't know how to rotate these pictures. . . .)
Rue is always on her own schedule.  She often won't eat a thing first thing in the morning when the rest of the family eats breakfast.  We always find her an hour or two later helping herself to her soggy cereal.  :)  Good thing I'm not always on top of breakfast clean up!
They're playing car.  My favorite is Baby and the doll in the back.

This cutie pie is growing up too fast!  She had a blast this night on her first attempt to feed herself.   We had a blast watching her!

We hosted the Valentines joy school party.  Sugar cookies, always a hit!
The kids enjoyed making heart shaped pizza for dinner.

So. . . that's what we've been up to since January.  Phew!  I think we're caught up.  Hope your life is as crazy and fun as ours is!

  1. These are great pictures! We never made it out to go sledding this year. Lame! Did you paint your kitchen cabinets white recently? I keep wanting to paint ours even though we're just renting..

    1. Yes we had our cabinets painted a couple months ago. Chris Barlow did it in exchange for babysitting. They're actually kind of a beigey tannish color. . . You should do it! I LOVE white cabinets!

  2. Cute kids! I was just thinking tonight that we're really going to miss you guys when you move. Also you have reminded me that I really need to be more on top of blogging - at least as often as I used to. I've been using instagram too often as my "blogging lite" but it's obviously not the same. Oh and what's that big blue thing? :)

    1. Ha ha. . . it's a snow tube. It lived in our kitchen and living room all winter because we didn't want to deflate it just in case we actually went sledding again. (we didn't.) Yes, keep blogging! I'll try to too. :)

  3. Hey, great to hear from you again!
Loving the lighter kitchen look! Pretty sure mike would die if I suggested it for our house... He doesn't much like change. :)
Anyway, I meant to respond to you earlier about the tri training. It's going very slow for me, if you could call it training at all. I swam once, biked once and ran twice. I died all 4 times!
How is it going for you?

    1. Ha ha. . . way to go those 4 times! I've actually kind of gotten into the groove these last few weeks. Nothing too intense though. So I'm still up for it if you guys are! Richard's training in a different crazy way. He's been doing Insanity every morning for the last couple weeks! He's amazing me!
