Just recently I switched from two laundry days per week to one. It has been great for me because it has cut my laundry load number in about half. (I've also been encouraging my husband and myself to re wear clothing if it really doesn't look or smell dirty. . . don't judge me.) This change, however, has not been as favorable to the princess of the house.
Ariel has this thing for "pretty" clothes. She prides herself in how she dresses every day and if ever I want to choose her outfit I can plan for a small fight. What I think is cute and she thinks is pretty doesn't always agree. I've been trying to respect her love to choose her outfit and allow her to do so as long as she follows my guidelines (must match, be warm enough, etc.)
Our current problem is that Ariel does not own enough pretty clothing to last a full week. Today is laundry day and Ariel went to pick out her outfit first thing this morning, as she always does, only to find that all her pretty clothes were dirty. She was rather distraught. I offered my sympathy and said "that's too bad, here why don't you wear this cute outfit?" She dressed rather reluctantly. Inwardly I rejoiced because finally. . . I got to choose her outfit.
